Heavy subjects inspire a comedy in Tammy Ryan's "The Wake"

Maggie and Rosemary rent a beach house in Florida to scatter their sister’s ashes six months after she loses her battle with cancer. They soon find themselves and their partners staring down a hurricane. As the storm begins to rage, strange encounters with wildlife signal something more is going on. The premise may appear rather dark, but playwright Tammy Ryan views her latest work as a comedy.


Half Time (Original Cast Recording) To Be Released On July 19th

​​​​​​​(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse, along with Sony Masterworks Broadway, have announced the July 19th release of Half Time (Original Cast Recording), with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Nell Benjamin and additional music by Marvin Hamlisch and Ester Dean.  The album features music from the Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin-written musical, which made its 2018 debut at Paper Mill Playhouse and tells the uplifting true story of ten New Jersey seniors with extraordinary dreams. 


Inside State Theatre's 2019-20 Broadway Season

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey has announced its 2019-20 Broadway Season. Combined, the shows in the series shows have received 18 Tonys®, three Grammys®, 17 Drama Desk Awards, and six Outer Critics Circle Awards. The series kicks off in November with the Tony® and Grammy® Award-winner, Beautiful—The Carole King Musical and The SpongeBob Musical. The series continues with Jersey Boys, Fiddler on the Roof, The Color Purple, The Play That Goes Wrong, Cats, and Once On This Island.

“Mysterium,” Westminster Choir College’s Summer Choral Festival Concert, focuses on the ancient five elements

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Choir College’s annual Summer Choral Festival will conclude with a concert titled “Mysterium – the Five Elements” on Friday, July 26 at 7:30pm in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall on the Princeton University campus.  Guest conductor Z. Randall Stroope will lead the Summer Choral Festival Choir and Festival Chamber ensemble in performing works by Bach, Ešenvalds, Pärt, Stroope and more.


A Look At Music Concerts At The 2019 Monmouth County Fair

MCCC's James Kerney Campus Gallery Presents "The Figure a Portrait Makes"

(TRENTON, NJ) --  This summer, Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC's) James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) presents contemporary interpretations of the genre of portraiture by ten current and former MCCC Visual Arts students. “The Figure a Portrait Makes” runs from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 23.  The exhibit features photography by Ramie Ahmed, Timothy Dill, John Labaw, Elizabeth Mayer, Isaiah Mcrae, Julia Pfaar, Regina Ritter, Danielle Rackowski, Zac Santanello, and Grace Spencer.
