(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Cynthia Sayer & Her Joyride Quartet are bringing The Hot Banjo Show to the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College for Jazz on a Sunday Afternoon, September 30 at 3:00pm.
Award-winning instrumentalist/vocalist/bandleader Cynthia Sayer is acclaimed by musicians, critics, and fans alike as one of the top four-string jazz banjoists in the world today. Her eclectic, swing-based shows embody the rarely-heard range and versatility of the four-string banjo in the hands of a master, celebrating historic jazz banjo stars, Vaudeville, American Songbook favorites, virtuoso classics, fun anecdotes, and more.
The concert also features Jim Fryer on trombone, Mike Weatherly on string bass and vocals, and Arthur Vint on drums.
The New Jersey Jazz Society is a media sponsor of the Jazz on a Sunday Afternoon Series.
