(WANAMASSA, NJ) -- The Premier Theatre Company presents the musical The Fantasticks on Friday April 13 and Saturday April 14 at 8:00pm and Sunday April 15 at 7:00pm. Directed by Joseph Necci and Musical Director Robert Sammond, this treasured musical has books and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. All performances will be presented at the Women's Club of Asbury Park, 57 Wickapecko Drive in Wanamassa.
The Fantasticks is the world's longest-running musical and the Premier production is not to be missed. It will be presented in a theater in the round setting. The musical is based loosely on the The Romancers by Edmond Rostand which draws elements from the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer's Night Dream and Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore. Songs include 'Try to Remember", "Never Say No" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain".
The cast includes favorite Premier performers Anthony Pruester, Ryan Sabatos, John Sabatos, Rebecca Roth and Joe Necci. Also featured are James Macciolli and newcomers Alexa Chalnick and Dean Blizzard.
