(NEW YORK, NY) -- Jesse Malin & Jeff Raspe will once again present Summer StrummerJam. This year taking place at The Bowery Ballroom (6 Delancey St) on Saturday, August 25, 2018, featuring Jesse Malin & his band with an all-star Joe Strummer/The Clash tribute set celebrating Joe Strummer's 66th birthday to end the night. Last August, the two put together Summer StrummerJam Asbury Park at the Stone Pony. With very little time to coordinate and promote, we sold the show out with over 700 attendees. It was a spectacular night that featured local Jersey Shore acts The Vansaders and Matty Carlock opening the night. Followed by Jesse Malin & his band doing a headlining set. Ending with a 20 song Strummer/Clash tribute set with Jesse & his band acting as the house band. We had special guest singers including Brian Fallon; Craig Finn & Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady; Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus; Ted Leo; Richard Barone of The Bongos; Daniel Rey of The Dictators; Mike Montali & Jonathan Bonilla of Hollis Brown; Anthony D'Amato; Don DiLego; RB Korbet of Even Worse; Danny Clinch; Supla of Brothers Of Brazil; Kris Gruen and more.
Proceeds from the show will again benefit Music And Memory and the Joe Strummer Foundation as part of their StrummerJam campaign. After last year's show the two donated $10,000 to Music & Memory and just over $4000 to the Joe Strummer Foundation.
Tickets will go on sale Friday March 30, 2018 at 12 noon. $25 in advance/$30 day of show. Tickets will be available at boweryballroom.com and the Mercury Lounge box office (217 East Houston St) free of service charges every Thursday through Saturday from 12n-6p.
