NJ Theatre Alliance Receives Grant For Video Series To Promote Garden State Theatre

(MORRISTOWN, NJ)  -- New Jersey Theatre Alliance received a $15,000 grant from Investors Foundation headquartered in Short Hills, NJ, for the second wave of the “See Professional Theatre” campaign. The grant will help the Alliance promote New Jersey’s professional theatres by funding a video series that will introduce people to the variety, accessibility, and high quality of New Jersey’s professional theatres.


American Theater Group Presents "A Good Farmer" by Sharyn Rothstein at SOPAC

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- What is the life of an immigrant worth? Are undocumented immigrants entitled to the American Dream? A Good Farmer, by Sharyn Rothstein, explores these questions and more in American Theater Group’s inaugural mainstage production at SOPAC from January 24-February 4, 2018. Ripped from today’s headlines, this is the story of a farming community and its struggles with issues of immigration, loyalty, family survival and compassion. 


Former Governor Tom Kean Among Those Added To Board of Trustees at Paper Mill Playhouse

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, has announced new members to the theater’s Board of Trustees. W. Theodore Bourke, Marshall Everett, Brian A. Gragnolati, Jim Hughes, Charles Pascarella join the board, Governor Thomas H. Kean will serve as an honorary trustee and Dr. Elliot I. Stupak will be welcomed back to Paper Mill Playhouse as trustee emeritus. The Board of Trustees, with their diverse experiences and expertise along with their dedication to the arts, is essential in ensuring Paper Mill Playhouse achieves its artistic mission, meets financial goals and continues to be known nationwide as a creator of world-class theater.

Mira Sorvino Wraps Filming on "The Islands" Movie, Due Out November 2018

Academy-Award winning actress Mira Sorvino wrapped filming on the movie, ‘The Islands’ set to hit theaters in November 2018.  Sorvino plays one of the first missionaries to arrive into Hawaii in 1821. Based on the true story of Chiefess Kapiolani who descended into an active volcano to demonstrate her new-found faith and ushered in a new beginning in Hawaii.

New Jersey Hall of Fame Exhibition Coming to Newark Airport

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF) will present a state-of-the-art exhibition of its inductees at Newark Liberty International Airport starting in 2018.  Highlighting the lives of inductees through posters, videos and five hologram units, the exhibition is designed to inspire people to pursue the full potential of their own lives.
