Asbury Park Music & Film Festival Names Five To Its Board of Directors

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Asbury Park Music  & Film Festival (APMFF) has named Denis Gallagher, Justin Kreutzmann, Annie McDonough, Rich Russo and Shelli Sonstein to its Board of Directors.

Denis Gallagher is the Founder, Executive Chairman and CEO of Student Transportation Inc. with over 42 years of experience in the passenger transportation industry. Gallagher is a 1976 graduate of Monmouth College and the youngest member ever elected to the University’s Board of Trustees. In 1992 he was the sole recipient of the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

Justin Kreutzmann was born to the world of art, music, and the highly creative unconventional world of the Grateful Dead. In 1978, when Justin was eight, his dad gave him a super-8 camera, and his path was set for life.  Justin has worked on a number of high profile projects with music legends such as U2, Motley Crue, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison, Perry Farrell, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Don Was, John Doe, Pete Townshend and The Who. Justin was executive producer on the feature film, The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir and is a producer, along with Martin Scorsese, on the Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip.

Annie McDonough is a Vice President at Falco Ink. Public Relations overseeing independent feature films, documentaries and TV series.  Notable campaigns she has supported include Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer’s Still Alice, Meera Menon’s Equity, Penn & Teller’s Tim’s Vermeer, Lorene Scafaria’s The Meddler, John Michael McDonagh’s The Guard, Evgeny Afineevsky’s Cries from Syria, David Holbrooke’s The Diplomat, Ashley Gething’s Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin’s Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, Robin Swicord’s Wakefield, Barbara Kopple’s Miss Sharon Jones!, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Don Jon.

Rich Russo is the host of Sunday night free-form radio program ‘Anything Anything’ heard on 107.1 Peak, 105.5 WDHA, 95.9 The Rat and also on Sirius/XM Underground Garage. Rich serves as the Director of National Radio at one of the leading independent media agencies, JL MEDIA, where he has worked since 1995.  His views on advertising and marketing trends are published in all trade publications as well as the Wall Street JournalUSA Today and New York Post. His forward thinking and unique ideas helped catapult Old Navy from an unknown company to a retail juggernaut.

Shelli Sonstein is the co-host of “The Jim Kerr Rock and Roll Morning Show” on New York City’s Q104.3. She recently won a Gracie award for best local radio co-host and just celebrated her 40thanniversary in NYC radio. Shelli also reviews movies on Q104.3 and interviews directors/actors for her Gracie award winning “Sonstein Sundays” show, which is podcasted on “Sonstein Sessions” on the iHeartradio app. The passionate movie enthusiast is a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, The Women’s Film Critics Circle and the Alliance of Women Film Journalists.

These individuals will join a group comprised of Board Chairs Tom Bernard (Sony Pictures Classics), Tom Donovan (Gannett), Danny Clinch (photographer/film maker) and Board Members Adam Block (Sony Legacy Recordings), Josh Braun (Submarine Entertainment), Jim Dowd (NJ Devils Stanley Cup Champion), Eric Eisner (L+E Productions), Vinnie Favale (CBS Late Night), Tom Jones (Halo Group), Jeff Rosen (Manager, Bob Dylan), Bob Santelli (Grammy Museum) and Michael Uslan (Film and TV Producer).

The APMFF was founded with the mission to benefit the underserved youth in Asbury Park, one of the most challenged youth communities in the country. Funds raised through the APMFF support music programs, including The Hope Academy Charter School, The Hip Hop Institute and the Asbury Park Summer Recreation Music Camp. The Festival will continue to provide music education, instruments and social connection opportunities for children in underserved communities.

The 2018 Asbury Park Music & Film Festival will take place from April 27-29, 2018 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- In its first public screening since premiering on PBS stations earlier this year, Kevin McLaughlin's Riot: From Rebellion to Redemption will show the Director's Cut at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 7:30pm.
