
(NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka will welcome the Universoul Circus back to the City of Newark for a 13-show appearance, before its premiere show on Tuesday, May 9, at 7:00pm, at the Circus Big Top at 430 Broad Street, in Newark. The circus will perform at the site between Tuesday, May 9, and Sunday, May 14.
The famed circus will give 13 performances in Newark, under their 158-foot-diameter big top, which will be located at 430 Broad Street, across from the Broad Street New Jersey Transit Station.
Returning by popular demand - viral internet sensations - are Fresh The Clownsss, from Detroit. Fresh The Clownsss and their energetic and infectious dance moves have won over audiences and become a YouTube sensation with their popular dance, "JuJu On That Beat," garnering millions of views.
Also appearing at UniverSoul: the Xtreme Bikes from Chicago and upstate New York performing crazy Freestyle Motocross stunts. And returning after a few years away from the big top are the Bone Breaking Contortionists from Guinea. Families will witness an amazing array of international human and animal talent including Roller Skaters (Home country: Ethiopia), Elephants (USA), Teeter Board & Hand Vaulting (Gabon, Guinea, Ethiopia), Mixed Animal Act (Mexico) featuring Zebras and Camels, Aerial Silks (China), Horses (Gabon, Guinea, Russia), and perennial favorites Caribbean Dancers (Trinidad and Tobago).
