Your Move is New Jersey’s longest running annual modern dance festival, designed to support inventive choreographers from New Jersey, New York and beyond. We have presented over 130 companies spanning from 10 states and three continents. Now in its 7th season, Your Move is co-presented by Art House Productions and DeBaun Performing Arts Center, and co-produced by Morgan Hille Refakis and Meagan Woods.

Your Move was the recipient of the 2016 Jete Award, a Dance New Jersey honor given in recognition of strong impact on the state’s dance community.

Founded in 2010 by Odessa Avianna Perez, Morgan Hille Refakis, and Meagan Woods, Your Move is now housed by DeBaun Performing Arts Center of Stevens Institute. DeBaun is a stunning theater in the heart of downtown Hoboken, offering a 300+ seat house and proscenium stage. The theater is accessible by major public transportation, and an easy commute from New York City and surrounding areas.

Your Move presents high caliber, boundary pushing modern dance. We are interested in work with strong intention, and a thorough execution. We welcome a wide range of movement performance including modern and post-modern dance, physical theater, dance-theater, improvisational performance, dance films, and more. The festival operates on an application basis: each spring choreographers are invited to submit new or existing work. Every show is then meticulously curated to offer a festival with variety in style, form, theatricality, and emotionality. Past curators include: Odessa Avianna Perez, Julia Gleich, Meagan Woods and Morgan Hille Refakis. Your Move performances are lit by a professional lighting designer, and run by a professional stage crew. To learn more about applications, click here.

Past choreographers/companies/artists include: Raymond Chai (UK), Dark Circles Dance (South Korea), DRIGG Productions, JKing Dance, Cleo Mack, MADBOOTS, The Moving Architects, Nancy Nowacek, Ariel Rivka Dance, Marsi Burns & Alice Teirstein, Rosie Trump (NV)
