
(TRENTON, NJ) — Capital Singers of Trenton, under the direction of founding artistic director Richard M. Loatman, present Choral Gems at Sacred Heart Church on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 4:00pm. The tenth anniversary season continues with works selected by the choir including composers J.S. Bach, Mozart, Paul Tschesnokoff, Randall Thompson, and Aaron Copland and others. Sight and Sound Theatre featured performer Michael Niederer will be the guest soloist.
Niederer, the “Samson” star, who studied with Mr. Loatman for fourteen years, has worked at McCarter Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Bristol Riverside Theatre and Lancaster Opera House. Mr. Niederer will perform two duets, “The Prayer” with soprano Chloe Dondero, and Leonard Bernstein’s “Make Our Garden Grow” with soprano Sara Guttmann. He will also sing a medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein favorites, including “O What a Beautiful Morning,” “If I Loved You,” “It Might As Well Be Spring” and “Soliloquy.”
Flautist Sister Teresa Haug will play processionals by Telemann and Rutter.
