(Union City, NJ)  — The City of Union City, Mayor Brian P. Stack & the Board of Commissioners cordially invite you to the Jose Acosta Cuban American Art Exhibition at the Union City Museum of Art. Opening reception will be Friday, November 20, 2015 at 7:00 PM.  The event includes Art, Live Music & Refreshments. This is a free event for all to view, dance and enjoy.

The Solo Art Exhibition by Artist Jose Acosta will feature over thirty paintings and a large sculpture.  Acosta creates lively paintings infused with dynamic forms, vibrant bright colors, swirling figures, and vivacious energy.  His spectacular Van Goghesque textures consistently electrify global audiences.  In fact, his unique animated surfaces are universally acclaimed to be among the most exhilarating and alluring surface-treatments available in 21st Century painting.   Born in San Jose, Cuba, he came to the United States with his family at the tender young age of three.  His paintings and art generally depict or suggest his cultural history, as well as examining his general surroundings and daily experiences.   Yet, his powerful, emotive, as well as playful Neo-neoexpressionistic style forcefully communicates authentic passion, which bursts from his immense and loving heart --- as the mainspring of both his artistic and everyday life.

The Union City Museum of Art is Located at the William V. Musto Cultural Center, 420 - 15th Street, Union City, New Jersey 07087.    For more information visit www.UnionCityMuseum.org
