(BELMAR, NJ) -- The Belmar Arts Council presents solo exhibit of Bob Steeler's artwork from September 20 through October 10 at the Boatworks Gallery, 608 River Road in Belmar, NJ. Visit www.belmararts.org for more info.

Bob is a multi-talented artist well known for his musical as well as visual art. Steeler was drummer for the famous rock band Hot Tuna from 1974 through 1979, an era some regard as the band's "golden age". He has recorded on several Hot Tuna CDs including America's Choice, Yellow Fever, Hoppkorv, Double Dose, and Final Vinyl. Steeler has also performed onstage with Jerry Garcia, Meryl Saunders, and George Braith.

In 1981, Steeler moved to New York City and began his art career, concentrating primarily on sculpture and painting. Steeler's eclectic style and personality are reflected in his works which have appeared in museums and galleries in New York City, San Francisco, Aspen, Colorado and Paris, France. Before moving to Hopewell, NJ, Steeler had a mural business in Colorado from 1994 through 2001.

His paintings are found in many private collections including those of such famous persons as Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, Ewan MacGregor, Mario Van Peebles, Henry Kravis, Malcolm Bricklin and J.P. Lipson. His paintings are best described as an eclectic Picasso style of art.
