(BERGEN COUNTY, NJ) -- To celebrate William Shakespeare's 450th birthday, Skyline Theatre Company is presenting the irreverent and hysterical The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) onstage in Fair Lawn May 2nd through 4th at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center.
Mr. Shakespeare, born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon would love this tribute of hijinks the New York Times called "PITHIER THAN PYTHON. IRRESISTIBLE." This show is all 37 plays in 97 minutes! The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), recently updated by the original authors, was London's longest-running comedy and had a successful run Off-Broadway in New York.
The three madcap men in tights that deliver this romp for Skyline Theatre Company are New York actors Trent Fucci and Joel Stigliano along with David Neal, of Fanwood, NJ, and a Skyline veteran. The three actors star as Romeo, Juliet, Othello, Hamlet and all of Shakespeare's other best-known characters. "We are also offering special rates for students and student groups," says Sam Scalamoni, Skyline's Artistic Director, who directs this production. "This is the perfect way to introduce young people to Shakespeare!"
Skyline Theatre Company, "Broadway's Home in Bergen County," brings together professional performers, designers, and staff from New York City and the surrounding area to produce an exciting array of musicals and plays. The company is proud of its Artists in Focus program, which brings professionals from Broadway and television into the classroom, and an Apprentice program that trains arts students with professionals while in production.
