Performed live by the electrifying Bobby Sanabria Multiverse Big Band, this reworking—captured on the GRAMMY-nominated double CD West Side Story Reimagined, which also won the prestigious Jazz Journalists Association Album of the Year Award—infuses Bernstein’s score with Afro-Caribbean grooves, Puerto Rican bomba and plena, and the fierce swing of New York jazz.
