(CLINTON, NJ) -- The Red Mill Museum Village will host their annual Blacksmith Hammer-In, in partnership with the New Jersey Blacksmith Association from 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturday, August 24. Tailgating, tool swaps, and demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the day and there will be opportunity to win prizes at an “iron in the hat” raffle drawing.
Have an odd item you’d like a blacksmith to identify? Bring it in! New this year: their blacksmiths will be offering one-on-one lessons from 9:00am-12:00pm. Participants must be age 12 or older to take a lesson, and will complete a coat hook project to take home. Lessons are $25 for half an hour and must be reserved in advance - contact assistant director Marie Salthouse at programs@theredmill.org or 908-735-4101x100 to register.
Visitors can help the museum raise money for the #SavetheWheel campaign by purchasing a metal dog tag that one of their blacksmiths will personalize just for you! Burgers, hotdogs and fixing will be available to NJBA members. Not a member? Registration to join NJBA will be available that day. Regular museum admission, free for Museum members.
The Red Mill Museum Village is located at 56 Main Street in Clinton, New Jersey.
