Newark Symphony Hall Seeks Booking Manager

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall is seeking a Booking Manager. The Booking Manager is a highly personable, strong relationship builder that recruits top talent, artists, performers and signature events for hosting and presentation at the venue. The Booking Manager works with the President & CEO to strategically identify key event opportunities that generate income for the NSH. The Booking Manager promotes, coordinates and secures NSH venue rentals. The opportunity is open until August 23, 2019.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

*Sales Solicitation and Contract Negotiations

− Solicit contract bookings for performances, premiere events, concerts, tours, and other programs.

− Research and develops new business, leasing and venue rental opportunities for NSH.

− Develop local, state and national relationships with promoters and agents to promote NSH availability.

− Conduct comprehensive and fiscally sound contract negotiations that generate revenue for NSH.

− Develop and monitor all event booking contractual agreements.

− Negotiates with agents, producers and/or event managers to arrange terms of contract, dates, and fees to be paid for all bookings.

* Operations and Financial Management

− Schedules and manages the calendar of events and/or update online booking system for management of eventbookings; and maintain contact database.

− Work with the Director of Finance to create accurate pricing structure for various event types.

− Work with NSH staff to ensure that contracts, deposits, insurance coverage, and all event-related documents and materials are sent, received and processed.

− Work with operations and Theater Manager to ensure optimal use of the venue and proper execution of production requirements for the events.

− Establish booking policies, process and procedures as standard operating procedures.

− Generate booking reports for tracking and revenue analysis with executive leadership.

*Media Management & Promotions

− Work with promoters and NSH marketing staff to ensure that digital artwork, posters, and marquee forms/requests are received and processed.

− Facilitate tours of the NSH and promote the benefits in selecting/using the venue.



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have/be:

− Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.

− Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience preferred in booking, marketing and/or sales.

− Highly motivated, self-starter and driven to achieve results and meet target goals.

− Strong negotiation skills with excellent written and oral communication skills that can function in diverse environments.

− Proficient in Word and Excel, and adept and utilizing social media platforms and various marketing tools.

− Budget development, tracking and data manipulation skill.

− Familiarity with booking tools, process and procedures to efficiently manage the booking process.

− Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for NSH’s mission.
