Jammin For Jaclyn To Take Place Online June 12

originally published: 04/06/2021

Jammin for Jaclyn, the New Jersey based benefit for those fighting cancer, will have it’s 8th annual event virtually this year on Facebook LIVE, June 12th from 7:00pm-10:30pm EST. The livestream will feature performances by Fern, Levy Okun, Sof, Natalie Farrell, Sahara Moon, Jake Tavill, Nick Ryan, and Taylor Tote (all performing from the safety of their homes), as well as a 50/50 drawing at the end of the night. The funds raised by this year’s event will be supporting local business owner, Brian Da Silva, who is currently battling Pancreatic Cancer.

This family run benefit in a small New Jersey town came to last over seven years and raised over $185,000 for 8 families in their ongoing fights with cancer. The organization was originally established for local New Jersey resident, Jaclyn Squillace, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer while five months pregnant in 2014.

Jaclyn's brother, Michael Squillace, a professional multi-instrumentalist, along with her parents and co-founders, Denise and Ron Morgan, created the annual event in order to raise funds for Jaclyn's many surgeries and treatments, but also to lift her spirits. As she went in and out of remission for several years, they continued to run the event for others fighting cancer in the community. Though Jaclyn passed in 2018, they continue to run the event in her name.

Donations made be made online here or via mail. Make checks payable to RJC Charities, Inc and send to 292 Stevens Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879

The concert will be available on June 12th at the Jammin for Jaclyn Facebook page.
