Centenary Stage Company Presents 2019 Women Playwright Series In April

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The popular Women Playwright Series (WPS) is back at Centenary Stage, with three exciting new plays by playwrights Jacqueline Goldfinger of Philadelphia, Ruth Kirschner of San Francisco and Alyssa Haddad of Brooklyn.  The playwrights will be in residence for the Series, featuring a cast of professional actors and directors, to be presented in the Lackland Center on Wednesday evenings, April 10, 17 and 24 at 7:30pm. 


Eagle Theatre Presents "Native Gardens"

​​​​​​​(HAMMONTON, NJ) -- On Friday, March 22nd, 2019, Eagle Theatre opened Native Gardens, a new play by Mexican-American playwright Karen Zacarías, that pushes the boundaries and shatters biases one laugh at a time.  This flower-flinging romp, running till April 14th, 2019, explores what happens when cultures clash and neighbors get nasty.


The King of Comedy, Ken Ludwig, Premieres "The Gods of Comedy" at McCarter Theatre

A young woman calls on the gods of Ancient Greece to save her love life—but it’s not the gods of love who show up to help. Ken Ludwig is back at McCarter Theatre with “The Gods of Comedy,” a hilariously divine new play filled with madcap mayhem, a touch of romance, and lots of laughs. Join Jesse and Dave in Princeton to hear from the master of farce himself.


The Timeless Musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" On Stage At Algonquin Arts Theatre

(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s timeless musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” opens at Algonquin Arts Theatre on Saturday, March 30 at 8:00pm and runs weekends through April 14. Entirely through song, “Jesus Christ Superstar” tells the story of the last week of Jesus Christ’s life with a twist: it is seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. The story follows Jesus and his personal relationships with Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.

Jennifer Lopez To Perform At Prudential Center

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Jennifer Lopez will bring her highly anticipated It’s My Party Tour, her first ever US headlining tour, to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Friday, July 19.  To celebrate her birthday on July 24, the multi-hyphenate entertainer will bring an all new show to fans at Prudential Center. Fans can anticipate a signature Jennifer Lopez show - the It’s My Party Tour will feature a nonstop party mix of Jennifer’s new and classic anthems, showstopping choreography and dancers, dazzling wardrobe, jawdropping technology and set design, and all of the glamour and wow-factor fans have come to expect of Jenny from the Block.

As music lovers make their way this Saturday, March 9, 2019 inside Long Branch, NJ’s Pollak Theatre — located on the campus of Monmouth University — many stop and smile the instant they notice there is a folk music icon sitting and chatting with folks in the venue’s outer lobby.

Classic 80s Films To Be Screened At UCPAC

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Union County Performing Arts Center’s Classic Film Series continues with three classic films presented on 35mm film. All film screenings include free popcorn along with an organ pre-show on the theater’s historic "Biggest Little Wurlitzer" organ beginning at 7:15pm for 8:00pm shows and 4:00pm for the matinee. Movies include A League of Their Own and The Natural on April 14; Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on May 10; and National Lampoon’s Vacation on June 28.

Nikki Manx Dance Project presents GAIA

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Nikki Manx Dance Projects presents GAIA on March 30-31 at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center.  Choreographers Nikki Manx and Allison Pagano (Embodied Dance) will premiere dances of air, water, earth, fire, and waste to reconnect us to the Earth and awaken our human potential in this split program. These two all-female companies heighten the importance of ecological and environmental necessity and responsibility by awakening our consciousness to the Earth goddess, GAIA.

MCCC Gallery to Host ‘Visual Arts Student Exhibition’ March 25 - April 25

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Visual Arts students at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) will display their rich and varied talents as the Gallery at Mercer presents its annual “Visual Arts Student Exhibition.” This exhibit, featuring the best works of MCCC students, runs from Monday, March 25 to Thursday, April 25. It is presented free and is open to the public. 


NJPAC Creates Robin Hodes Jacobs Scholarship For Students In Greater Newark Area

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Department of Arts Education and the Jacobs family of West Orange announce the institution of the Robin Hodes Jacobs Scholarship, an annual award for students in the Greater Newark area.


Roebling Gallery Presents "Consciously Two"

(TRENTON, NJ) -- As part of its ongoing First Friday series of art openings, Roebling Gallery will exhibit the work of Lori Johansson and Katja Valeur at Roebling Lofts, 71 Clark Street, Trenton. "Consciously Two" is the chance for us to take a step back and listen to two incredibly talented women in a changing society. This exhibition runs April 5th through May 31st. This show exemplifies Roebling Gallery’s mission to fuse the local and regional art scenes.
