BrandaoFilms Announces New Jersey Tri-County Film Festival

(Kearny, NJ) --- Brandao Films, in association with the West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (W.H.A.T.) have announced the first ever North Jersey Tri-County Film Festival. The event will be held May 16 at the W.H.A.T. Theater, in residence at the First Lutheran Church, 65 Oakwood Avenue, Kearny, NJ.

“We hope to be a discovery festival, where new generation of local filmmakers can find a home and an audience for their work,” said festival organizer Jonathan Brandao, founder, Brandao Films. “Our hope the festival will become an annual tradition where regional filmmakers gather and screen their films, network, and exchange information about their craft,” added Brandao.

With its focus on youthful filmmakers, the NJTC Film Fest is encouraging the participation of novice film makers, as well as film students — from grammar school to graduate school. The festival organizers are soliciting entries from young filmmakers throughout in the tri-county region and, more broadly, from the film departments of college-level institutions. Independent young filmmakers who are not affiliated with a film school are also encouraged to submit entries, as will professional cineastes.

The event is to allow youths the opportunity to showcase their creatives. The call for entries is now underway. Submissions are currently being solicited in the following categories:

Entries are being accepted up to April 17. The event takes place May 16.

Send DVDs to W.H.A.T. Attn: NJTC Film Fest, P.O. Box 231, Kearny, NJ, 07032. More information and entry submission forms can be found on www.whatco.org and www.njtcfilmfest.comTickets information available soon.
