This sensational South Korean girl group, one of the most successful K-pop units worldwide, brings its new full-length U.S. concert tour to NJPAC’s Prudential Hall.
Since the release of their debut single, 2014’s "Happiness," Red Velvet – a 5-member group comprised of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri – has been on a steady climb to the very top of the K-pop charts. The group’s first EP, 2015’s Ice Cream Cake, topped the Gaon Album Charts, and their first full-length album, The Red, rose to No. 1. Red Velvet has also reached the top of the Billboard World Albums Chart with its two follow-ups, Rookie and The Red Summer.
With the release of their second studio album, last year’s Perfect Velvet, this five-member pop phenomenon officially became the K-pop girl group with the most No. 1 albums. Their most recent release is the mini-album RBB, which includes the new single, “RBB (Really Bad Boy).”
“Red Velvet (explores) soundscapes that range from colorful, schizophrenic pop to sultry, moody R&B,” says Spin or Bin Music. “Their Perfect Velvet is the best K-pop album of the year and a must-listen.” Red Velvet is “one of the best K-pop groups you should know about,” says TIME magazine.
