About Marion Meadows

Meadows’ musical journey began when he was nine years old. He studied classical music and played the clarinet until he discovered the tenor, and then soprano, saxophone in high school. During his college years he played in a number of bands including disco, R&B and

various jazz ensembles.

“I got a lot of sideman jobs in college,” Meadows recalls, “and I have always said I got my real graduate degree playing clubs.” As a sideman, he has played with well-known musicians Brook Benton, Eartha Kitt, Phyllis Hyman, Jean Carne, The Temptations, Michael Bolton, Angela Bofill, Will Downing, Bob Baldwin, Chuck Loeb, John Lee, among many others.

Meadows has been a solo artist since 1990 and has released a number of successful albums, including “For Lovers Only,” “Keep It Right There,” and many more, including his latest, “Soul Traveler,” the first installment of his Soul Trilogy on Shanachie Records.

Meadows brings his colorful and soulful personality to both his music and his visual artwork. Experience Marion Meadows live in the intimate atmosphere of UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage!
