Wharton Arts Awards Two Local Teens with Accolades

(BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ) -- On February 24, Wharton Arts announced that two local teens have received awards from the Garden State’s leading performing arts education organization. Aadhitya Raam Ashok of Edison is the winner of the inaugural Wharton Arts Annual Choral Composition Competition and Nina Park of Basking Ridge is the winner of the 2023 New Jersey Youth Symphony Concerto Competition.

Screaming Females releases "Mourning Dove"

Last month, Don Giovanni Records announced the brand new album from DIY scene icons Screaming Females. Titled Desire Pathway, the album will be released on Friday, February 17 and is the band's eighth LP released over their eighteen year career. Screaming Females have released "Mourning Dove" - the second and final single ahead of the album across all digital streaming platforms, and Bandcamp.

Princeton Junction’s Eli Bramnick Builds A Busy Career as a Recording Studio and Touring Guitarist in L.A.

Eli Bramnick, a native of Princeton Junction, has established himself as an in-demand recording session and touring guitarist on the Los Angeles music scene.  Artists with whom he’s worked include folk-pop singer Peter McPoland (Columbia Records), singer-songwriter Marc E. Bassy, TikTok pop sensation Haiden, soulful vocalist Kyle Lux, award-winning songstress Ella Collier, edgy pop belter Kate Grahn, and jazzy actress/singer Jordyn Simone, who was a finalist on “American Idol” and “The Voice”.

Low Cut Connie Pays Tribute To Philadelphia DJ Jerry Blavat with "Low Cut Strut"

On February 9th, Low Cut Connie pays tribute to “The Geator With The Heator” Jerry Blavat, the legendary Phildalephia DJ who passed away last month, with the release of “Low Cut Strut (Strut That Ass Right Back to Class),” which features a guest appearance from Blavat himself. The song was originally released as the b-side of the “Shake It Little Tina” 7 inch vinyl in 2015, and is now available on streaming services for the first time.

Can't Swim Releases New Single: "Nowhere, Ohio"

New Jersey rock band, Can’t Swim, shared a new single, “Nowhere, Ohio,” out via Pure Noise Records. The track is off forthcoming fourth full length studio album, Thanks But No Thanks, arriving March 3rd. “Nowhere, Ohio” offers a playful tribute to the Alkaline Trio classic “Radio” in between stabs of downtuned guitars and lyrics that reflect on the loneliness of touring.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
