Newark's Annual Latin Festival Offers Fun for Families and Music Lovers of All Ages
(NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Deputy Mayor for Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles-Mercado, and the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery (OVPTR) with the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC), will host the Annual Latin Festival on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from noon to 10:00pm, on Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue, in Newark’s North Ward. This year’s event is being presented as an opportunity for city agencies to raise awareness for domestic violence prevention, with speakers sharing personal stories of transformation from the stage.
Maxwell Close Collective Delivers Captivating Performance at Berklee Performance Center
(BOSTON, MA) -- Maxwell Close, a talented drummer and composer from Berklee College of Music, led his Maxwell Close Collective in a memorable concert at the Berklee Performance Center (BPC) on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The performance, a rare opportunity for a Berklee student to headline at the BPC, offered an evening of innovative music that also honored jazz icon John Coltrane on the anniversary of his passing. The event brought approximately 150 attendees to the Berklee Performance Center venue.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center
(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
