The Hudson West Folk Festival Takes Place October 15th

originally published: 09/26/2022

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- In its historic downtown area, three blocks to the Exchange Place PATH station and just two stops from Manhattan, Jersey City again hosts the Hudson West Folk Festival on Saturday, October 15th from noon to 10:00pm at the new Nimbus Arts Center. This festival will include performances from nationally-known artists and highly regarded regional acts.  The lineup includes Ebony Hillbillies, Leslie Mendelson, J Pope and the HearNow, Jaimee Harris, Cole Quest and the City Pickers, Ari Hest, Ukrainian Village Voices, and KJ Denhert.

The Hudson West Folk Festival is a non-profit organized by a handful of longtime music presenters based in Manhattan and Jersey City that have come together to present their favorite performers. A festival with a diverse approach - the selected musicians are intentionally eclectic and cover a broad array of music ranging from Americana, contemporary singer-songwriters, Hip-Hop/Funk/Soul, Bluegrass and Jazz.

The Hudson West Folk Festival is an indoor, rain-or-shine event with continuous music, free music workshops, a bar, and ethnic foods. The workshops will provide instruction in improvisational singing, how to develop your own musical style and even Ukrainian folk songs.

Great food & drink with a spotlight on refugees. The Hudson West Folk Festival is proud to be working with Welcome Home Jersey City to bring in refugee chefs to present mouth-watering ethnic specialties from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door. Nimbus Arts Center is at 329 Warren Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. Tickets and more information are available for purchase online.
