We wanted the band name Virtue In Vain to represent something we relate to. In essence the idea of anti-idolism. The name portrays the idea that you shouldn’t have to look up or follow the same path as someone or something just because it has been portrayed as successful.

That just because you take the path less traveled by doesn’t make your view any less valid, we are all different and wealth and success has no bearing on character.

Tell me about a recent release.

Our latest single is called ‘ The Whispers Of Sleep’. The Whispers Of Sleep came about from a nightmare a member of the band had. At one point he wasn't sure if he was awake or sleeping and even when he woke he wasn't sure what was real and not. This song is built upon that feeling at that moment. The song also incorporates how our dreams/nightmares are created from our subconscious and how it makes moments from our past, be it places or people, feel so real.

How many records, eps, or singles has the band put out in total? How has the band changed over time?

We have 2 Ep’s and a single out, eager to get our next release out.

Over time we have all matured about how we approach writing music as well as improved on each of our instruments and areas. We really have changed our work ethic and style as this band has progressed, which we really feel shows in the quality of our songs.

What was one of your favorite gigs? What made it memorable?

The Globe in Cardiff holds a special place in our hearts as it is when we played live for the first time with the current line up and all felt that we as a band were complete.

Where does the band regularly play shows? Where would you like to play if you could?

We play all over the UK regularly. We would love to play the US, France or just the EU in general. Really hope to play with our friends in those countries.

What would be the “next step” that you’d like to see the band take?

Releasing our next EP and playing in the US & EU. As a band we would love to play to new people and meet old friends. Other than that it's just to release more music and play more shows.
