Newark Porchfest Scheduled for Saturday

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Newark Porchfest takes place in the Forest Hill Historic District of Newark. This is a free, family-friendly celebration of the arts with music of all genres, art, dance, food, and activities for children.  The rain date is Sunday, September 25.

Over 100 musical, visual, and spoken word artists use 30+ neighborhood porches, stoops, and lawns to showcase their talents. Artists range from amateur to professional and represent a diverse range of genres and artistic styles. Attendees walk, take complementary shuttles, ride bikes or scooters, or push strollers as they move from one porch to another throughout the neighborhood to partake in the festivities.

A wide range of food trucks offer refreshments throughout the day, and dedicated children's activities keep the little ones entertained and educated in the arts.

Artists and organizations scheduled for Newark Porchfest include The Randy Haze Trio, Carrie Jackson & Her Jazzin' All Stars, THECAINMARKO, Orquesta Lunar, The IZM., Janetza Miranda, The Violin Diva, Mars Is Watching, GlassRoots, Kassaye Selassie, Deivito, Lisa Viggiano, Demarco, Crystal Gaynor, Diamonds in Jupiter, Jerome Bongiorno, Challenger & The Kingsguard, Chaancé, Adeola Fashina, Aya Styled Creations, Emme, Seychelle Elise, Ted Allen, Blaq Rose, Never Grow Up, RPM, Christine Carroll, Bruno Lee, E&L, The Fanny Pack, Solimar Infante, Rich Lawson, Queen Bleu Nile, Larayne, Na Pua Mai Ka Lani Nuioka, Jadeley Louis-Jean, Russ Wills, Gregg Banks, Fatou Ridgird,I'm So Yoga, BW & The Cali Cats, Swapan Basu, The Heritage Crew.

Newark PorchFest is an annual event proudly produced by the Forest Hill Community Association. The event is organized by a committee of volunteers and funded by generous sponsors. A charitable event, all event proceeds are contributed to local arts organizations. 2022's beneficiary is the New Jersey Symphony, who in 2022 are celebrating their centennial anniversary.
