One of the greatest songwriters ever to grace the increasingly less mean streets of Asbury Park is L.A.-bred talent Arlan Feiles, whose albums just keep getting better and better. This is evidenced with his brand new platter, “Blame Me.”

The Tex-Mex charmer “It’s So Easy” about how love can overcome all ills and failures is the 11-song LP’s first single and the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “It’s So Easy” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 12 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you also can tune in any time in the archives at ThePenguinRocks or MixCloud

With his legendary pal JT Bowen, whose new album, “Dig Deep,” he wrote and produced, Arlan recently helped raise $1,375 for Asbury Park African-American Music Project, a nonprofit dedicated to the treasured past, present and future of the city’s fabled Springwood Avenue.

A rare songwriter who can stare down the most challenging societal woes while lifting the listener up, the charitable singer-songwriter soon will announce more fundraisers for AP-AMP and other worthwhile causes, as well as international tour dates. In the meantime, Arlan will play Aug. 13 at Asbury’s hot new R Bar and Sept. 13 at The Basement in Nashville.
