(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Progressive rock trio dada has added eight more dates to their upcoming Return to Dizz Knee Land Tour featuring the original lineup Michael Gurley (vocals, guitar), Joie Calio (vocals, bass), and Phil Leavitt (drums). The long-awaited tour commemorating their groundbreaking 1992 debut album Puzzle will span across the United States, stopping in 30 cities throughout the summer.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased in advance here.
“We missed out on being able to celebrate our 30th anniversary due to the pandemic,” recalls Leavitt. “We were determined to make it up to our fans, though. To be able to put the original lineup on stage together after all that we’ve been through is a very special experience for all of us. Also, we’ll be digging a little deeper into our catalog than in previous years."
dada was founded when guitarist Michael Gurley and bassist Joie Calio began writing songs and performing as an acoustic duo in the late ‘80s. Once they recruited drummer Phil Leavitt, they were able to blend the thunderous power of trios such as Cream with the artful harmony-minded songcraft of Simon & Garfunkel. Their debut album Puzzle was released on September 8, 1992, and included the hit single “Dizz Knee Land” which received widespread airplay leading to over 1,000,000 albums sold worldwide. And just like that… the band was supporting Crowded House, Depeche Mode, and Sting.
In 1994, the band released their sophomore album American Highway Flower featuring the ambitious “Ask the Dust” and astounding “Feet to the Sun.” To date, dada has created a magnificent discography including a half-dozen full-length albums as well as an EP.
