BlowUpRadio.com to Broadcast Rock Against Hate Webathon With New Compilation Albums

originally published: 01/02/2025

New Jersey based Internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com has scheduled a new Rock Against Hate webathon to take place on January 20, 2025, the same day as Donald Trump's second inauguration. Recording artists, the majority New Jersey based, will give live, online performances throughout the day as the station raises funds and awareness for two organizations: Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and Planned Parenthood.

BlowUpRadio.com will offer two digital compilation albums, each featuring 30 different original songs, many exclusive to these compilations, as incentives to donate to the respective organizations. When listeners donate, they will receive streaming and download access to one or both compilations.

KIND assists unaccompanied minors fleeing catastrophe and violence in their country of origin who seek a safe haven here in the United States - children who the incoming administration vows to detain and deport.

“Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is immensely grateful to Rock Against Hate for their support of the children we serve,” said KIND Chief Development Officer Hannah Chotiner-Gardner. “Initiatives such as these align with our mission to protect the rights and well-being of unaccompanied children and highlight the compassion and care of so many towards them. We appreciate Rock Against Hate’s work to support justice for the most vulnerable, using their talents as a force for good.”

Planned Parenthood provides reproductive health care and education, ranging from abortion to cancer screenings. Trump and his allies have made routine life-saving procedures for women illegal in several states, allowing many young women to die of easily preventable causes surrounding their pregnancies.

“While my initial thought was to just curl up in a corner for the next four years, I want to put my festering anger/fear to good use,” said Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com, of his motivation to pull this webathon together, “thankfully so did a lot of musicians, otherwise this would not be possible”. Lazlo organized the first Rock Against Hate  compilation when Trump was first inaugurated in 2017, followed by volume 2 in 2018 and volume 3 in 2019. A 4th volume was released when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade in 2022.

Listeners can hear the webathon on January 20 by visiting BlowUpRadio.com and clicking the play button.
