(STROUDSBURG, PA) -- Get ready for an electrifying night of music as the Sherman Theater presents its second Battle of the Bands event this year on Friday, May 24th, 2024. With a diverse lineup of talented acts and $2,000 in cash prizes up for grabs, this promises to be an exhilarating showcase of local musical talent.  Doors are at 6:00pm, showtime is 7:00pm.

Competing for top honors are eight hand-selected bands, each bringing their unique style and energy to the stage. The lineup includes: The Blue Kush, The Venom Assembly, Big Handsome, Black Horizon, Look Back Luna, ulTRAVIOlet, and Goldenrod.

Winners will be determined by audience response, musical talent, and on-stage performance.

Eight bands have been selected to compete for $2,000 in cash – First Prize $800, Second $450, Third $250, and $100 for each of the remaining five participants.  The First Prize winner will also receive the potential for a headlining show in the Sherman Showcase and future consideration to open for a national performing artist at the Sherman Theater. All participating bands will have the opportunity to receive 10% – 50% off of gear ordered from Chauvet, Shure, Sweetwater, Pro X, Qsc, Eaw, and More!

Various genres of music will be represented and the bands will be judged on musical talent, on-stage performance, and audience response. Judges for the event are to be determined.

The Sherman Theater is Monroe County’s only nationally ranked, non-profit theater and performing arts center. Located in downtown Stroudsburg, PA, the Sherman Theater has proudly served the Pocono region for 90 years. The Theater and Performing Arts Center is committed to strengthening the community by producing culturally-diverse, nationally-known professional acts and festivals at the theater and at satellite locations throughout Monroe County for people of all ages, by providing an opportunity for local artists to perform, and by creating economic development in the region.
