Albert Music Hall hosts All Day Bluegrass Festival on Saturday

(WARETOWN, NJ) -- On Saturday, July 13, 2024, Albert Music Hall has a day of pure Bluegrass music planned for their annual All Day Bluegrass Festival. Starting at 3:00pm, eight bands will play 45 minute Bluegrass sets on the Hall stage (indoors). The line-up includes:  Fish and Whistle, Blue Plate Special, Big Sky, Acoustic Rosewood, Mary Kate Brennan, Interstate, and Elaine & The Cimarron Sky Band.

In addition to the band performances, attendees are encouraged to join in on their pickin' sessions. Whether in the Pickin' Shed or on the porch, musicians of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned players, are welcome to participate and share their love for Bluegrass music.

The snack booth will offer several hot food options: hotdogs, Kielbasa & Kraut, meatballs, and Polish Beef Sausage,peppers and onions. A variety of snacks, desserts, and beverages will also be available.  The gift booth is stocked with Albert Music Hall and Pinelands souvenirs including some new items themed for the Hall’s 50th Anniversary this year. There will also be a 50/50 draw.

Doors open at 2:00pm, Music from 3:00pm - 9:00pm. Admission: adults $10, $1 for children under 12. The venue is cash only. Albert Music Hall is located at 131 Wells Mills Road in Waretown, New Jersey.

Albert Music Hall is run by the Pinelands Cultural & Historical Preservation Society (PCS), an all-volunteer, non-profit-501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation of the Pinelands Cultural Heritage. Since 1974, visitors and musicians have gathered at the hall for live Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Americana, Old Timey & Pinelands Music, along with jam sessions in the Pick'n Shed, every Saturday night . Guitarists Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo Bring Their 'Joyful Jamming' to Madison

In the 1970s and '80s, the New Jersey Jazz Society held summer festivals at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ, sometimes as part of a New Jersey arm of the Newport Jazz Festival in New York. Guitarist Frank Vignola remembers playing there 40 years ago, as a 19-year-old, with such guitar giants as Bucky Pizzarelli and Tal Farlow. "There were also other legends," he recalled, "like (pianist) Jay McShann and (bassist) Milt Hinton. So, I sort of got my start with the New Jersey Jazz Society."
