A Philly Special Christmas releases "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)"

originally published: 11/25/2022

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- A Philly Special Christmas has released “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” featuring performances from NFL Eagles’ Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson produced by Charlie Hall (The War on Drugs) and executive producer Connor Barwin is out now.  This is the first in a series of holiday classic singles to be released every Friday between now and the album’s official release on December 23rd via Vera Y Records. Recorded at Rittenhouse Soundworks, Silent Partners, and Elm St studio, proceeds from the LP will be donated to the Children’s Treatment Crisis Center in Philadelphia.

"It means a lot to me about coming together, sharing stories about our upbringing, and what Christmas was like for each of us growing up,” says Mailata. “I hope we bring people together with this album the same way that it brought us closer together talking about our backgrounds, music and family holidays.  And discovering that Lane and Kelce have great voices behind their beards was my favorite part."

This summer, Eagles teammates Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Connor Barwin and producer Charlie Hall joined forces to record a A Philly Special Christmas. The seven song LP features classic holiday songs and performances from the aforementioned players as well as Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra), Rob Hyman (The Hooters), Eric Bazilian (The Hooters), Lady Alma, Zach Miller (Dr. Dog), Robbie Bennett (The War on Drugs), Eliza Hardy Jones (The War on Drugs), Brandon Beaver (MeWithoutYou), Thomas Hughes (The Spinto Band), Randy Huth (Pissed Jeans), Nick Krill (The Spinto Band, Teen Men), Nasir Dickerson, Kaila Vandever, Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner, and The Silver Ages. Eagles announcer Merrill Reese and players Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, and Jordan Davis all make appearances.

"It's amazing how talented these guys are and cool to see Philly's music and sports worlds come together to create something special for the holidays,” says Barwin. “I'm proud that everyone involved wanted to do something good with this record by donating proceeds to the annual toy drive at the Children's Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia to help bring a little joy to families during the holidays.”

A Philly Special Christmas is available for digital preorder and a limited pressing on vinyl is available to order via the official website

Winners

Winners of the Spring 2026 New Jersey Film Festival Competition Announced!

The Competition component of the Spring 2026 New Jersey Film Festival has just concluded! Overall, we had a good festival this year.  We had a few screenings that were very well attended and a bunch with lower turnouts but that happens every festival for a variety of reasons.  The in-person show attendance was about the same as our Festival last year, but the online viewership is what has kept us afloat financially since COVID broke in 2020. All the Official Selection works of the Spring 2026 New Jersey Film Festival were selected by a panel of judges including media professionals, journalists, students, and academics. These judges selected the 33 finalists which were publicly screened at our Festival. The finalists were selected from over 600 works submitted by filmmakers from around the world. In addition, the judges chose the Prize Winners in conjunction with the Festival Director. Here below are the winners of the Festival.
