The Porchistas & Jackson Pines To Perform Outdoor Show On June 19th

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Porchistas will be opening up their yard in Montclair for live music again with a concert featuring them and their friends Jackson Pines on Saturday, June 19th.  Doors open at 6:00pm. They will be following CDC COVID-19 guidelines and limiting attendance to 50 people.

Tickets are $10 and available for purchase online. The show takes place outside the Porchistas' Home Studio at 148 Forest Street in Montclair, New Jersey.

The Porchistas started as a bunch of friends writing and singing songs late into summer nights, on their rickety porch on Forest Street in Montclair, New Jersey. That evolved to DIY house concerts and block parties that continue today. Their songs navigate through the rock genre; Folk, swing, surf, reggae, blues, psychedelic, punk - always rock and roll. The Porchistas have developed friendships with musicians throughout The U.S. that shape the identity of who they are as a band. They see music and art as community building endeavors. The Porchistas have performed at the WNTI Stage Festival, The Jersey Shore Music Festival, The Wellmont Theater and The Hoboken Arts & Music Festival, The Bitter End, just to name a few.

Jackson Pines consists of Joe Makoviecki (guitar, vocals) and James Black (upright bass, banjo).  Billboard Magazine said, ""...like a mash-up of James Taylor and Tom Petty -- with serious focus on acoustic guitar [...] Jackson Pines already have a collection of music that presents a unique lyrical take on life, bringing a rustic flair to the world of indie-folk/acoustic music [...] they've only just begun."

"I tell everyone that I'm the last surviving original member of my band, however I had a 50/50 chance where some other guys didn't," laughed John Ford Coley as he reflected upon his former partnership with the late England Dan, current bands with no original members, his very loyal fan base and his fellow mellow rockers as they get ready to bring "Rock The Dock" to Englewood, NJ for a night of some of the greatest adult contemporary and easy listening tunes ever created.
