Lizzie Rose Music Room Presents The Pavilion in the Pines Summer Concert Series

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents The Pavilion in the Pines Summer Concert Series at the Atlantic Shore Pines Campground in Tuckerton.  The series kicks off with Vanessa Collier on June 6th and has concerts scheduled throughout the summer. All shows take place rain or shine in a covered pavilion. All shows start at 7:30pm and must stop at 10:00pm.

The current schedule includes:

June 6 - Vanessa Collier  - “There’s a young lady [Vanessa Collier] came onstage with me, I forget where I was, but she’s playing an alto saxophone, and man, she was amazing.” Those are the words of Buddy Guy in a recent issue of American Blues Scene, describing an impromptu performance with Vanessa Collier on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise. If you haven’t been fortunate enough to meet Vanessa and witness one of her head-turning, fiery, and passionate performances, you should definitely make sure you do. As a master musician and multi-instrumentalist, Vanessa Collier, weaves funk, soul, rock, and blues into every powerful performance and she is downright impressive. With soulful vocals, searing saxophone, and witty songwriting, Vanessa is blazing a trail, racking up an impressive arsenal of honours, and has already singled herself out as an artist of distinction and one we would all do well to watch.

June 11 - Trudy Lynn - Since joining forces with harmonica wizard Steve Krase and the Connor Ray Music label in 2014, Lynn has played curator for herself. She has been written her own songs that blend nicely with the vintage songs. The songs are mostly about good times and bad men. "Each one of these songs means something to me," she says. "I truly understand something about each one of them." Her debut release on Connor Ray Music Royal Oaks Blues Café reached # 1 on The Billboard Blues Charts in 2014 and the 2015 release of Everything Comes With a A Price was 4 months on the Living Blues Charts. Her latest album, I'll Sing The Blues For You, released in 2016, peaked at #6 on the Billboard Blues charts.

June 18 - Bell Bottom Blues - The Bell Bottom Blues is a tribute to Eric Clapton's work in bands like Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos, and the Beatles, as well as the many classic hits of his solo career. Because of the passion and talent of each member, the band is able to recapture Clapton's sound throughout his legendary career. Their goal is to provide our audience with an authentic re-creation of Clapton's music at every show.

June 25 - Ghost Town Blues Band - Horns, harmonies and homegrown instruments combined with an energetic and roots rich festival set makes Ghost Town Blues Band one of the “must see live bands on the festival scene today.” Both Andrew McNeill behind the drums and Matt Karner on the bass guitar are a punishing rhythm section behind multi-instrumentalist/frontman Matt Isbell with raunchy cigar box guitar licks and raspy "Dr. John-like, whiskey and gravel-soaked vocals." With the addition of Trombonist Suavo Jones, Cedric Taylor on B3 and Taylor Orr on lead guitar, the grooves go from fresh to funky as the band gains more notoriety in the blues festival and jam circuit.

July 9 - Damn the Torpedoes - Mesmerizing audiences since 2007, DAMN THE TORPEDOES  offer a complete Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers  concert experience.   Whether performing note for note renditions of the studio recordings or engaging the audience with actual live versions of TPATH's performances, patrons and venues can be assured that DTT will deliver the "AWE" factor EVERY TIME.

July 11- Billy Walton Band - Billy Walton is an accomplished guitar master from the vibrant New Jersey Shore music scene. He earned his stripes in the rock & roll trenches, playing lead guitar for many years with Jersey icon, Southside Johnny. He has also shared the stage with music legends; Little Steven, Gary US Bonds and Steven Tyler, to name a few.

July 16 - Billy Gilman - Gilman burst onto the national stage in 2000 releasing the hit single “One Voice.” His debut album was certified double platinum in the United States, and he was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest singer to ever reach #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts. He has sold five million albums worldwide and garnered awards and nods from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Billboard Magazine, and the American Music Association.

July 23 - Gold Rush - The Ultimate Neil Young Celebration. “Featuring touring players including Briz-who has performed the music of Neil Young for over 15 years in a solo configuration in his “Shakey” shows and in a band configuration with the New Jersey based “Sugar Mountain” tribute–the versatile musicians of Gold Rush give us folk, country, electronic and hard rock to rockabilly. Gold Rush is a complete Neil Young concert experience, mining gems from his deep catalog and the hits Neil Young fans enthusiastically anticipate.”

July 28 - Albert Castiglia - As most artists will attest, the most unexpected circumstance can spark artistic inspiration. That’s a fact that hasn’t been lost on singer, songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire Albert Castiglia. With his latest album, the aptly named Masterpiece, he celebrates an unforeseen triumph -- a connection with a daughter he never knew he had. The result is a work that’s both personal and provocative all at the same time.

July 30 - Dave Keller and Katie Henry - Dave Keller is a two-time Blues Music Award (BMA) nominated soul/blues singer, guitarist and songwriter, and is considered one of the finest blues and soul men of his generation.  His new album, You Get What You Give: Duets hit #6 on the Living Blues radio chart.  It features Joe Louis Walker, Trudy Lynn, Johnny Rawls, Annika Chambers, Dawn Tyler Watson, and other A-list singers joining Keller on his strongest album yet. New Jersey-born singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Katie Henry is a rising star in the blues world. She has been riding high since the recent release of her debut album, High Road, which earned her IBMA and Blues Blast Music Award nominations.

August 5 - Kat Wright - Kat Wright, Bob Wagner and Josh Weinstein lean into their trio formation, showcasing their folky/rootsy selves, all stripped down, a triangulation of their strengths, their bareness, their imperfect humanness, their voices, their ferocious tenderness, their love of songs and singing and story.

August 7 - Deadgrass  -  Multi-instrumentalist Matt Turk and Grammy award winner C Lanzbom have joined forces to form Deadgrass, an acoustic five piece band that celebrates the music of Jerry Garcia. Web music authority All Music Guide, calls Matt Turk "...an artist to be reckoned with." Matt is a seasoned recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, eternal idealist and compassionate peace loving realist. Based out of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, Matt is a veteran performer who has engaged audiences around the world. He has shared the stage with Pete Seeger and opened for Judy Collins, The Doobie Brothers, Fiona Apple, the Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart and more. He has performed throughout the USA, Europe, Israel and the Caribbean, appearing at festivals including Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival, Gathering of the Vibes, Atlanta's Music Midtown, Jazz at Lincoln Center and venues including The Beacon Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl.

August 14 - Stone Flower - Stone Flower creates a truly authentic, high energy tribute to Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame artist, Carlos Santana, resulted in the formation of The Stone Flower Band in 2010.  The name was adopted from a song on the Caravanserai Album, which represents a pivotal period in the evolution of the iconic Santana sound. The collaboration of these, brilliantly paired musicians, reproduces this sound with spot-on precision. Stone Flower’s seemingly effortless syncopation of percussion delivers a spellbinding resonance that gets the audience moving …in their seat or on their feet.

August 15 - Popa Chubby - Popa Chubby, born Ted Horowitz, has been hard rocking the blues in his fierce and soulful way for more than 25 years. Over the course of a career that dates back to 1994, he has been a force of to be reckoned with on the guitar, and his tempestuous, soulful playing has never been more powerful. An imposing figure with a shaven head, tattooed arms, a goatee and a performance style he describes as “the Stooges meets Buddy Guy, Motörhead meets Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson," Popa Chubby is an endearing character who is one of the genre’s most popular figures.

August 20 - Professor Louie With the Woodstock Horns - This special show with All-Star Band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock NY, with The Woodstock Horns perform The Band repertoire learned directly from The Band. Louie helped create many songs with The Band including their come back hit Atlantic City. The show will present a diverse set list with songs from Professor Louie & The Crowmatix 15 studio CD’s on The Woodstock Records Label, including their blues recordings. They have been inducted in The New York State Blues Hall of Fame and hold a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum.

August 27 - Lisa Polizzi's Janis Joplin Experience - The Janis Joplin Experience With a twinkle in her eye and that rasp in her voice, Lisa Polizzi brings the spirit of Janis Joplin, belting out hit after hit in a heartfelt tribute performance. Her band of seasoned pros recreates the sound that defined a generation,  laying down the soul, and conveying the tender ballads that Janis brought in her short exhilarating career.

September 6 - Albert Cummings - Albert Cummings writes, plays and sings the blues like nobody else. He has played with blues legends B.B. King, Johnny Winter, and Buddy Guy.  Taken with Albert’s fire and passion bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris Layton, of the band Double Trouble, the late Stevie Ray Vaughan’s rhythm section, volunteered to play on and produce his solo debut recording, 2003’s self-released From the Heart. B.B. King dubbed Cummings “a great guitarist.”
