(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College will come alive with the energy and extraordinary sounds of Krakauer & Tagg’s Good Vibes Explosion on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00pm.
Conceived and created during the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 by Grammy-nominated “ebullient clarinet wizard” (Time Out NY) David Krakauer and multi-instrumentalist/producer Kathleen Tagg, “Krakauer & Tagg’s Good Vibes Explosion” showcases a multi-generational/high-octane group of collaborators from very different backgrounds. The project was initially created in isolation; band members did not meet in person until a year after the project was recorded and the music videos were made.
Krakauer’s dazzling clarinet leads a lively ensemble that includes Tagg on keyboards, electronics, accordion and cello; Martin Shamoonpour on daf and jaw’s harp; Jerome Harris on electric bass and vocals, rapper and singer Sarah MK performing in both Québécois French and English, Yoshie Fruchter on oud and electric guitar, and John Hadfield on drums. Together, they embrace the diversity of today’s America through their unique take on a wide range of traditional roots music, drawing on their enormous musical and cultural backgrounds and collaborating to create powerful original material.
“Krakauer & Tagg’s Good Vibes Explosion” was created in response to the current climate of polarization that pervades daily life. In these uncertain times, the performance offers an opportunity for audiences to come together, celebrate shared humanity, and experience the joy of positivity and connection through music.
