(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Bridge Players Theatre Company presents a special concert series event - Lizzie by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner and Alan Stevens Hewitt. Rage! Sex! Betrayal! BLOODY MURDER! A rock-show retelling of the bloody legend of America's favorite axe-wielding double-murderess, Lizzie Borden. Performances take place March 27-29, 2026.
In the heat of late summer 1892, Andrew Borden and his wife are found murdered in their house. The main suspect? Andrew’s youngest daughter from a previous marriage: Lizzie Borden. This all-woman musical sets American mythology to a searing rock score – complete with riffs on the historical record – to explore the heady and heated days leading up to the historical murder and Lizzie’s controversial acquittal of all charges.
Featuring music by Steven Cheslik- DeMeyer and Alan Stevens Hewitt; Lyrics by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer and Tim Maner; and book by Tim Maner.
Performances take place Friday, March 27 at 8:00pm; Saturday, March 28 at 8:00pm; and Sunday, March 29 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 36 E Broad Street in Burlington, New Jersey.
Lizzie premiered in New York City at the Living Theatre in 2009. Miss Borden has since swung her axe in over 100 Productions in 11 countries across 4 continents in 7 languages and has been honored with dozens of awards, including 8 Best Musical Awards… and she’s still swinging!
