The show features their signature Celtic sound on timeless carols including “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “The First Noel,” and “Silent Night,” all beautifully arranged to highlight the band’s lush harmonies, traditional instrumentation, and dazzling step dancing.
Celebrating an incredible milestone of 40 years, Cherish the Ladies have captured the hearts of audiences around the world with their exhilarating blend of traditional Irish music, breathtaking vocals, and propulsive step dancing.
Adding to the magic, the extraordinary step dancers bring the stage to life with breathtaking athleticism and artistry. This year’s lineup features World Champion James Greenan, Principal Lead Dancer of Riverdance; two-time World Champion Tyler Schwartz, Joe Harrison, alumnus of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance and Canadian Champion dancer and Chieftains alumni, Nathan Pilatzke.
Tickets range from $36-$46 and are available for purchase online. Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) is located at 1601 Irving Street in Rahway, New Jersey.
“I discovered that the Celtic instrumentation naturally blends with the Christmas music,” said Cherish the Ladies leader, National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Award Winner, and flutist/whistle player extraordinaire Joanie Madden in a 2023 interview with TapInto Rahway. “The audience loves it, and we love to have the audience get involved and sing along with us. My band members—the singers, dancers, and musicians—are just so talented. They’re stellar. And it’s really a family event. There is something for everyone. We have so much fun.”
One of the most engaging and successful ensembles in the history of Celtic music, Cherish the Ladies have shared timeless Irish traditions with audiences worldwide for forty years. In their Celtic Christmas performance, the Ladies put their signature mark on classic carols such as “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Silent Night,” in arrangements that highlight the group’s unique Celtic instrumentation, beautiful harmonies, and spectacular step dancing.
