(RIVERSIDE, NJ) -- Masquerade Theatre presents Little Women weekends from December 5-20, 2025. Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, this Civil War story of love and family stands the test of time. Little Women features a Book by Allan Knee; Music by Jason Howland; and Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.
The play follows the March sisters — traditional Meg, wild, aspiring writer Jo, timid Beth and romantic Amy — and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Massachusetts, while their father is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.
The production is directed by Megan Knowlton Balne and Ivie Wren. The cast includes Charley Bazz (Amy), Layne Cochran (Jo), Julia Dennis (Beth), Trisha Dennis (Marmee), Amanda Dranchak (Aunt March), Tony Killian (Mr. Laurence), Sean McGarry (Frederick Bhaer), Sarah Spivack (Meg), Connor Twigg (John Brooke), and L Bryce Welborn (Laurie).

Masquerade Theatre seeks to unveil the roles, groups and beliefs that we hold fast and explore the humanity that lies beneath them. Art is one of the rare forms of human expression that is relatable to all people and permits us to share a common experience with a group of strangers in an audience. Theatre enables us to encounter circumstances and emotions through characters that move us and inspire us to think, react and learn.
Masquerade is dedicated to using theatre to enlighten, to help us bridge the issues that divide us and present pieces that will encourage us to remember one simple truth amongst the discord - our humanity.
