(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Vanguard Theater Company presents Into The Woods from December 4-21, 2025. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
The cast includes Molly Kavanaugh (Little Red), Trevor Lavine (Jack), Karlo Siriban (Baker), Helora Danna (Baker's Wife), Brandi Chavonne Massey (The With), Dwayne Clark (Narrator/Mysterious Man), Brianna Marie Johnson (Cinderella), Giuliana Demarinis (Rapunzel), Kathy Rodriguez Monroe (Granny / Giant), James Verderamo (Cinderella's Prince / The Wolfe), Lisa Cortney Denke (Stepmother), Isaiah Miguel (Repunzel's Prince), Julie Galorenzo (Jack's Mother), Marquise Neal (Steward), Leslie Baez (Florinda), Emma Theriot (Lucinda), Aphrodite Brooks (Puppeteer), Saadiq Muhammad (Off Stage Swing), Andrew Willis-Woodward (Off Stage Swing), and Sonali Burns (Off Stage Swing).
Performances take place Thursdays, Fridays, at 8:00pm; Saturdays at 2:00pm & 8:00pm; and Sundays at 1:00pm & 7:00pm. Note: the performance on Friday, December 19 is at 7:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. Vanguard Theater is located at 180 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey.
