Spring Lake Theatre Company presents "Grease"

originally published: 09/23/2025

(SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- Spring Lake Theatre Company presents Grease across three weekends from October 10-26, 2025. Get ready to hand-jive your way back to Rydell High! Grease is the ultimate rock 'n' roll musical, bursting with high school romance, rebellious fun, and iconic hits. With slicked-back hair, poodle skirts, and plenty of attitude, this high-energy favorite will have you singing and dancing in your seat.

Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys’ and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical.

Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.

Performances take place Fridays at 7:30pm; Saturdays at 2:00pm & 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Spring Lake Community House is located at 300 Madison Avenue in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

The cast includes Jolee Morris (Sandy Dumbrowski), Jake McNerny (Danny Zuko), Aisa Feratovic (Betty Rizzo), Aidan Panno (Kenickie), Allisa Conover (Frenchy), Sean Diveny (Doody), Layla  De La Paz (Jan), Matthew Ochoa (Roger), Claudia Noto (Marty), Mark Buerck (Sonny), Jade Gordon (Patty Simcox), Kevin Polke (Eugene), Carolee Wagner (Cha-Cha DiGregorio), Jared Polanco (Teen Angel), and Thea Sheridan (Miss Lynch).

Grease debuted off-Broadway on February 14, 1972 at the Eden Theatre in New York City. The show transferred to Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, and later to the Royale Theatre, closing on April 13, 1980 after a record-breaking 3,388 performances. The film adaptation of Grease premiered in 1978 and became the highest-grossing movie musical of all time. Grease returned to Broadway twice, in a 1994 revival directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun and in a 2007 revival directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall.

The season continues with their annual production of Scrooge in December, The Wedding Singer in February, and Jesus Christ Superstar in March.
