Honoring Rahway's Future and Legacy: A Full House Salutes Rising Stars and Rahway's Own

originally published: 06/27/2025

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Hamilton Stage was filled wall-to-wall with applause, emotion, and community pride. The "Rahway's Own & Rising Stars" celebration brought together families, educators, city leaders, students, and Rahway residents to recognize some of Rahway's brightest talents and future changemakers.

The evening honored four outstanding alumni as part of Rahway’s Own new inductees: Earl Clark, Kenrick Facey, Robert Taj Moore, and Susan Speidel. These individuals have made impressive contributions in sports, entertainment, law, and the arts, and were each presented with an official proclamation from Mayor Raymond Giacobbe and a resolution from Assemblywoman Linda Carter.

Two classes of Rising Stars, from the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 school years, were also celebrated. Students from local elementary schools, the 7th & 8th Grade Academy, Rahway High School, Union County Magnet School, and Saint John Vianney School were recognized by beloved educators and family members, who shared heartfelt stories about their achievements and character. All students were also presented with an official proclamation from Mayor Giacobbe and a Citation from Assemblyman James Kennedy.

“This night shows what Rahway is all about—family, love, and lifting each other up,” said Mayor Giacobbe. “Our Rising Stars and Rahway’s Own honorees inspire us all. They represent the best of our past, present, and future.”

The event was a collaboration between the City of Rahway, the Rahway’s Own Board Committee, and Rahway Public Schools, with production support from UCPAC. Every moment—from moving speeches by educators, parents, and community leaders, to the roar of proud families—captured the heart of what makes Rahway shine.
