(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey presents The Pirates of Penzance at the Sieminski Theater July 12-13, 2025. They have assembled a brilliant cast ready to bring you a sensitive-yet-duty-bound pirate apprentice, a gaggle of gloriously melodramatic daughters, a Major-General who can out-patter anyone, and a police force whose bravery is inversely proportional to the size of their mustaches.
The Pirates of Penzance is a rollicking comedic operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan about Frederic, a young man mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates, who falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, but a leap year technicality means his apprenticeship continues for many more years.
The production is Directed by Nicholas Wuehrmann with Musical Direction by Jason Tramm. With lively performances, infectious melodies, and plenty of wit, this classic tale unfolds on the shores of adventure—where romance, comedy, and a band of charmingly inept pirates (and police) all collide.
Performances take place Saturday, July 12 at 2:30pm & 7:30pm; and Sunday, July 13 at 2:30pm. Tickets range from $55-$70 and are available for purchase online. The Sieminski Theater is located at 8000 Fellowship Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
Its lighthearted humor and engaging story make it suitable for audiences of all ages. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of this timeless production.
