MPAC Launches Second "Creative Aging Arts Program" with Cornerstone Social Adult Day Center

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has launched a second Creative Aging Arts program at Cornerstone Social Adult Day Center in Morristown that will run through the end of May.

Lisa Butler to Join Visual Arts Center of New Jersey as Director of Development & Communications

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) has announced the hiring of Lisa Butler as its new Director of Development & Communications, effective April 15. Butler will join the staff of VACNJ after serving as an Art Center trustee from 2014 to 2022. During her time on VACNJ' s Board, she served in a number of capacities, including as Board Chair and as a member of the Development Committee.

Registration Open for Mayo Performing Arts Center Summer 2024 Performing Arts School

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Registration for Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC)'s Summer Performing Arts Classes has begun. This is a series of week-long and two-week long sessions will be held throughout June, July and August.

The Third Annual Carteret Earth Day Celebration

(CARTERET, NJ) -- The Third Annual Carteret Earth Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Carteret Park on Carteret Avenue at Cypress Street. This year the popular event includes a wellness expo featuring a dozen vendors. They either will be selling holistic, organic products or providing wellness services, including physical therapy, chiropractic care, health screenings, yoga, and exercise classes. The event runs from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Morris Arts presents 16th Annual Great Conversations

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Morris Arts presents the 16th Annual Great Conversations on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 6:00pm-9:30pm at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany. Hosted by Morris Arts' Board Trustee, Merle Johnson, this unique event gives guests the opportunity to dine and talk with a prominent individual while supporting the arts.

Monmouth County Park System Hosts 2024 Creative Arts Festival

(LINCROFT, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System is hosting its annual Creative Arts Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Thompson Park (805 Newman Springs Road) in Lincroft. This celebration of the arts features more than 45 specially selected artists in a variety of mediums such as pottery, painting, jewelry, and more. The event encompasses the grounds of the Creative Arts Center and two beautiful historic barns. This family-friendly festival runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm and also includes live music, engaging art demonstrations and children’s art-based activities.

RVCC to Receive Sapling from Original Tree Mentioned in Anne Frank's Diary

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in Branchburg is one of six new recipients that will receive saplings grown from the horse chestnut tree that towered behind Anne Frank's Secret Annex in Amsterdam. The announcement was made recently by Anne Frank Center USA, an organization dedicated to transformative education honoring the legacy of Anne Frank.

Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival Returns April 21st

(MANAYUNK, PA) -- One of the largest and most celebrated food truck festivals in America is back - and it's even bigger and tastier than ever! StrEAT Food Festival returns to Manayunk on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. NJPAC and Rutgers University–Newark Jointly Launch Teaching Artist Certificate Program

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On March 26, 2024, New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and Rutgers University–Newark School of Arts and Sciences (SASN) announced a new Teaching Artist certificate program to provide practical skills and an understanding of sound business practices for teaching artists to apply in educational, community, healthcare and corporate settings.
