(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Center for the Arts at Monmouth University has announced its first of two events this semester featuring the work of multimedia artist Paul Miller - aka DJ Spooky.  On February 20 at 4:30pm in Wilson Auditorium, there will be a free screening and faculty discussion featuring Rebirth of a Nation, Miller’s remix of D.W. Griffith’s 1915 epic film The Birth of a Nation. Please note that Miller will not be present for this event, however he will be on campus on March 21 for his multimedia performance, Book of Ice, performing with students and faculty from the Department of Music and Theatre.... (CRANFORD, NJ) -- The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders welcomes all residents and visitors to the 2018 Union County Black History Month Celebration event, featuring a screening of Men of Bronze, a rare 1977 documentary about the 369th Regiment in World War I. Keynote speaker Dr. Jeffery Sammons, Professor of History at New York University, will provide commentary on the film and present his book, Harlem's Rattlers and the Great War: The Undaunted 369th Regiment and the African American Quest for Equality, co-authored with John H. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Taxi Driver (1976), directed by renowned filmmaker, Martin Scorsese, is the first film in the four-part screening and lecture series hosted by film critic and author, Stephen Whitty. “Sundays with Scorsese,” kicks off on February 4, from 2:00pm-5:00pm in the newly opened, state of the art Presentation Hall in the School of Communications & Media at Montclair State University. The second screening in the series will be on February 11 with Raging Bull (1980) followed by After Hours (1985) on February 18 with a special appearance by screenwriter, Joe Minion.
