Special Guest Living Colour is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1984. Led by guitarist Vernon Reid, the bands lineup solidified in the mid-80's w/ Corey Glover (vocals), Will Calhoun (drums) and Muzz Skillings (bass). Stylistically, the band's music is a creative fusion influenced by free jazz, funk, hard rock and heavy metal. Their lyrics range from the personal to the political, in some of the latter cases attacking Eurocentrism and racism in America.

The band’s debut album, “Vivid”, was released in 1988 on Epic Records. The album reached #6 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and was later certified double platinum by the RIAA. It featured “Cult of Personality,” a #13 hit on the Billboard 200 Singles chart as well as the Top 40 hit, “Glamour Boys.” “Cult of Personality” went on to earn the band their first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.

The Stone Pony, located in the City of Asbury Park, New Jersey, is one of America's most iconic rock venues, which opened its doors on February 8, 1974. The venue holds legendary status with early career performances in the 1970s by beloved New Jersey musicians Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Van Zandt. The venue has hosted a wide range of musical genres, showcasing the diversity of New Jersey's music scene and contributing to its reputation as a melting pot of talent. From Kenny Chesney to Prophets of Rage, featuring Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, and Cypress Hill’s B-Real to The Pretenders with Chrissie Hynde donning a Pony t-shirt on stage to Trey Anastasio’s and B52’s sold out the Summer Stage.

Behind the music, The Stone Pony has played a pivotal role in putting New Jersey on a national stage as the backdrop to live broadcasts, music videos, and iconic album covers including VH1's "Storytellers" featuring Jack Antonoff, with special guests Carly Rae Jepsen and Lorde. The Jonas Brothers used the club as the setting for a taping for MTV's Video Music Awards in 2019, and Van Morrison once used the club to shoot a music video. Many music artists started their careers at The Pony including The Zac Brown Band, Billy Strings, Old Dominion, Sturgill Simpson, Morgan Wallen, Hunter Hayes and more. The Pony has also hosted a cavalcade of stars during after-parties for both the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival and the Sea Hear Now music festival: The Farrelly Brothers, Wyclef Jean, Brandon Flowers from the Killers, Jake Clemons from the E Street Band, and Danny Clinch joining the jam.
