(GLASSBORO, NJ) – After 20 years, Rowan University is thrilled to welcome back Mnozil Brass on Saturday, February 28, 2026 as part of a limited, 9-day U.S. tour. A group with fans around the globe, described as "Canadian Brass Meets Monty Python," Mnozil Brass will perform their latest stage sensation: Strau$$. Showtime is 7:30pm.

Mnozil Brass has established itself as one of the world's premier brass ensembles, selling out houses around the world and captivating audiences with their blend of immense virtuosity and theatrical wit. For over thirty years, the seven brass masters have effortlessly waltzed between genres, gliding from Johann Strauss to Frank Sinatra, Shostakovich to Prince, Schubert to Queen. They embrace the grandeur of classical music and the irresistible charm of pop with equal joy, never afraid to mix the sublime with the playful.

Now, Mnozil Brass ties it all together in their latest stage sensation: Strau$$. The "King of the Waltz" was admired by Brahms, Wagner, Verdi, Gershwin — and just about everyone else. A true pioneer, Strauss composed hit after hit, revolutionized music distribution, and became a mass phenomenon—not to mention a financial genius. With Strau$$, Mnozil Brass lays it all bare. Every flourish, every secret, every last twist and turn of the waltz's golden age—until nothing remains but the naked truth.

Tickets are available for purchase online. The performance takes place in Pfleeger Concert Hall (North Campus Drive) in Glassboro, New Jersey. The show will be immediately followed by a meet-and-greet.

Concessions are  available for purchase at all performances. Pfleeger Concert Hall is a wheelchair accessible venue. For assistance contact Rowan University's College of the Arts Box Office via [email protected] or 856-256-4545.

Mnozil Brass take their name from the "Gasthaus Mnozil," a restaurant across the street from the Vienna Conservatory, where, in 1992, seven young brass musicians met and began playing at a monthly open-mic. Since then, the group has embraced repertoire for all ages and stages of life: from folk to classical to jazz to pop; all executed with the same fearlessness, immense technical skill, and typical Viennese "schmäh" (almost impossible to find an English translation, but best rendered as a kind of sarcastic charm!).

In their time away from touring, Mnozil Brass has recorded 8 albums and 6 DVDs. They've collaborated on three operetta and opera productions, and composed and recorded the music for the 2006 film "Freundschaft." The group has been nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and won the prestigious Salzburger Stier Cabaret Prize in 2006.

Because of Rowan's Marie Rader Series, arts lovers throughout New Jersey don't have to travel to New York or Philadelphia. Focused on artistic integrity and inclusion, the series provides public presentations, community outreach, and coaching for students that reflect the innovation and quality consistent with Rowan University's overall standards of high achievement and transformation.

The series is made possible in part through generous support from the Henry M. Rowan Family Foundation via the Marie Rader Memorial Fund and through funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
