(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- ACME Screening Room's Lambertville Halloween Film Festival is rising from the grave for its third year and bringing rising genre filmmakers, fan favorite Halloween flicks, and events to New Jersey's own 'Halloweenville'. LHFF invades this year from October 18-20, 2024.
The opening party happens Friday, October 18 at the Lambertville Music Hall at 7:00pm. This year’s theme is possibly the scariest yet…prom…in the 1970’s. This ‘Carrie’ inspired shindig will have a live DJ, dancing, Halloween cocktails and mocktails, food by The Greenhouse, New Hope, a costume contest (with prizes), a special guest MC, a silent auction, tarot reader and a photo booth to create memories of this years event. All in one of the creepiest old buildings in Lambertville. Ticket includes entry to both the party and the costume contest. Their 2024 opening party is made possible thanks to the Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce and Union Chill Dispensary. Tickets are $45 and available for purchase online and at the door.
Saturday afternoon, October 19 offers a full lineup of events from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Walk through an exclusive horror gallery at 20 S Main St, New Hope, hosted by curator and owner of the brand new 'Nightmare in New Hope', Joe Gioconda. Joe is bringing an exclusive item, the screen-used jacket from Scream, to the gallery for this one day opportunity. Get up close and personal with iconic screen used props and outfits from classic and beloved horror franchises. You won't see this event anywhere but at this year's LHFF!
Over at the Acme, they're shaking things up this year. LHFF is only accepting horror short films this season, offering something for everyone! Categories include - Heady Horror (psychological thrillers, Sci-Fi, and slow-burn horror) -Guts and Gore (slashers, exploitation, and after-dark) and Happy Halloween! (Any short film with that Halloween vibe--even if it's not horror.) Then, join The Ghost Tours of New Hope for a very special LHFF walking ghost tour. For the first time in nearly 45 years this tour will start in Lambertville where some of our most haunted locations will be highlighted before heading into New Hope.
Saturday evening highlights 2 feature films. A special screening of 'WORLDS' will be hosted by the film's director, Chris Hammarberg, along with cast and crew. 'WORLDS' was shot primarily in New Jersey and is as independent as you can get. The film has traveled around the country this year, playing at genre festivals like Panic Fest in Kansas City, MO and Horrorigins in Tucson, AZ and has finally come home to New Jersey. After, join 1289 Films as they share a never-before-screened preview cut of their upcoming feature "The Point Pleasant Tapes" before opening the floor up for a post-screening Q&A.
