RVCC to Stage Student Theatre Production Featuring Modern Take on “Everyman”
 

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's Arts & Design department will present a student theatre production of Everyman/Everywoman, by Virginia Egermeier, from April 12-15 with performances at 7:00pm. Directed by Adjunct Associate Professor Danielle Barry of Bridgewater, the play will be staged in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. Everyman, the popular medieval play, was the most widely read, frequently produced play before the Elizabethan Age.

 



Spring Solos Series at Vivid Stage Kicks Off with "101 Humiliating Stories" April 13-16
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present 101 Humiliating Stories by Lisa Kron from April 13-16, kicking off their three-week Spring Solos Series. Directed by Mark Spina (Union), the show will be performed by Laura Ekstrand (Livingston), Artistic Director of Vivid Stage. Following this comedy is The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey by James Lecesne and Harry Clarke by David Cale. Each of the three solo shows explores the many dimensions that every person contains, and allows each actor to portray a multitude of characters along the way.

 



Two River Theater Announces Spring and Summer Education Programs
 

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater continues its mission of promoting arts education as a means to both support the artist within each student and to build future audiences. Coming up, Two River will continue to inspire empathy, risk-taking and a sense of adventure, supporting academic achievement and life-long learning through the Howard Aronson Metro Scholars program, Summer Intensives, and their newest endeavor, The ART of Social Justice: Summer Studio. This new program will be a collaboration with Project Write Now and the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center.

 



Inside Paper Mill Playhouse's 2023-24 Season
 

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Executive Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, has announced its 2023–2024 season of five musicals, including a world premiere, a Tony Award winner, and an electrifying new musical inspired by real events in post-emancipation Texas.

Erika Sherger Releases Independent Album, "Bad Wolf"
 

Erika Sherger has announced the independent release of her new indie-folk album, Bad Wolf, now available on all major streaming channels. Bad Wolf includes 12 original songs that were written and recorded by Sherger in New Jersey between 2021 and 2023. The tracks were recorded at GD PonderRosa Studios in Lafayette, the County College of Morris in Randolph and in Sherger’s home in Boonton Township. This release also features tracks by several talented local musicians, including Maribyrd, Joe Biglin and Joe Cirrotti.

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Get Ready for an exhilarating night of jazz when Jazz973 at Clements Place Jazz presents the Benito Gonzalez Trio on Wednesday, March 29th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in Clements Place Jazz Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall. Admission is free, but advance registration is requested due to limited seating.

 



Godsmack and Staind to Tour Together; Includes Shows in Camden and Holmdel
 

(CAMDEN, NJ) -- Godsmack and Staind will go on a 25-city co-headlining 2023 tour, produced by Live Nation. The tour kicks off on July 18 at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO, with stops across the U.S. in Pittsburgh, PA; Salt Lake City, UT; Las Vegas, NV, and more before wrapping up in Austin, TX, at Germania Insurance Amphitheatre on August 31. Locally, the tour comes to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Friday, July 28th and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Saturday, July 29th.

 



Barry Manilow to Perform 5 Shows at Radio City Music Hall
 

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) and The Bowery Presents announced that Barry Manilow will perform five consecutive nights at Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday, May 31; Thursday, June 1; Friday, June 2; Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4, at 8:00pm each night. These shows will mark Barry Manilow's 35th - 39th lifetime performances at Radio City Music Hall, and his first time returning to the legendary venue since 2012.

 



A Conversation with Richie Furay Who Performs at SOPAC on May 20, 2023
 

Richie Furay — credited as one of the founders of country-rock — is coming to the Garden State on May 20, 2023 to perform a concert at SOPAC in South Orange, NJ. Furay is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer known by many as the voice of country rock. In fact, it is said that at an Eagles concert in Denver, band leader Glenn Frey once pointed out Furay in the audience and announced, "If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t be here."

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The ShowRoom Cinema will present a one night only screening of the documentary The Lost Weekend: A Love Story on Friday, April 14 at 7:30pm. This new documentary explores the 18-month relationship (1973-1975) that John Lennon spent with May Pang, his Chinese American assistant turned lover (on Yoko Ono’s insistence).

West Windsor Arts Presents Member Show: Yesterday Today Tomorrow
 

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Life revolves around change, the passage of time, and hope. Change is a constant that occurs everywhere and has so throughout time. Perhaps most importantly, time and change result in something new, different, and beautiful, and often with hope for the future. For this exhibition, West Windsor Arts invited their member artists to explore and express the idea of change and the passage of time as they relate to personal experiences or observations in the springtime art exhibition, Yesterday Today Tomorrow. The art is on view at West Windsor Arts during operating hours or by appointment from March 28 to June 3, 2023. The juror was Katie Truk, a NJ-based artist and teaching artist. Awards for Best in Show, Best Use of Medium and Exhibition Committee Choice will be announced at the opening.

Arts Council of Princeton invites Community to Upcycle Wardrobe at an Earth Day "Swap-o-Rama"
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) invites the Princeton community to take a look in your closet. When was the last time you wore that pink plaid blazer or those red velvet bellbottoms? The EPA reports that we generate 16 million tons of textile waste annually, and that is just here in the United States. Approximately 700,000 tons of clothing gets exported and estimates for recycled clothing are near 2.5 million tons worldwide.
