(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Sabeeha Rehman and Walter Ruby, authors of We Refuse to be Enemies, will highlight their message of solidarity against intolerance in a live program on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:00pm. It takes place at the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch.
Subtitled How Muslims and Jews Can Make Peace, One Friendship at a Time, the book is a manifesto that two Americans, a Muslim woman and a Jewish man, created in response to the perceived rise of bias and bigotry in the US.
Rehman and Ruby have spent decades in interfaith collaborations, nurturing cooperation among communities. They will share their observations about ways that people of all backgrounds can create lasting friendships through knowledge and trust.
Registration at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events is required for this free program. The Toms River Branch is at 101 Washington Street. For more information, call 732-349-6200.
