Albert Music Hall presents Annual Homeplace Show: The Sounds of the Jersey Pines on Saturday

A celebration of musical traditions that led to the creation of the Hall and the Pinelands Cultural Society with live music & a sing along.

originally published: 11/12/2025

(WARETOWN, NJ) -- On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the annual Homeplace Show will take place at Albert Music Hall, featuring traditional "Sounds of the Jersey Pines." The name of the show originates from weekly jam sessions once held at the Albert brothers’ cabin—affectionately known as the Homeplace by those who played there. These gatherings drew crowds from near and far, including both musicians and music enthusiasts who came to listen or sing along. Over time, they inspired the founding of Albert Music Hall and the Pinelands Cultural Society.

Recently, an old Albert Music Hall Sing-Along Book was donated to the archive by the daughter of founder Janice Sherwood, inspiring organizers to open this year’s Homeplace Show with a traditional sing-along led by Granny and the Boys. Song sheets will be distributed at the door to encourage everyone to join in when the show begins at 6:00pm. Doors open at 5:00pm.

Following the sing-along, five bands will perform: Sawmill Run Old Time BandFish & Whistle, Sadie Grove, Easy As Pie, and Granny & The Boys.

The Pickin’ Shed and porch will also be open for informal jam sessions starting at 5:00pm. It’s a welcoming space to learn, play, and connect with other musicians. Musicians of all skill levels are welcome—organizers invite guests to bring an instrument and join the jam!

Admission: $6 for adults and $1 for children under 12. The venue accepts cash only, offers free parking, and is wheelchair accessible. 50/50 raffle, drawing held at end of the show. Albert Music Hall is located at 131 Wells Mills Road (Rt. 532) in Waretown, New Jersey.

Community Note: Non-perishable food donations for Saint Stephen’s Food Pantry will be collected during the Hall’s Saturday shows through December 12.

For dinner, guests can enjoy a variety of hot options, including hot dogs and beans, kielbasa and kraut, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs. Vegan chik’n patties will be available upon request. A wide assortment of desserts and beverages will also be offered.

The gift shop will be open, offering music- and Hall-themed gifts, Pinelands memorabilia, 50th Anniversary merchandise, and new Jersey Devil shirts. Visitors can also purchase the yellow songbook, featuring many of the traditional tunes sung throughout the Hall’s history. More about this history can be found in the organization’s story.

All are invited to come to Waretown and celebrate the region’s musical heritage at this beloved annual event.

Since 1974, the Albert Music Hall is the  best place on the East Coast to Hear Live Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Americana, Old Timey & Pinelands Music  every Saturday night.
