The partnership between Split Level Concerts and JSAC brings critically acclaimed national and international touring Americana and contemporary folk musicians to the Jersey Shore. The talented local and regional artists opening each show will be announced later this spring.
Jeanne Power-Galli, Executive Director of JSAC stated, “The inaugural season of Split Level Concerts at JSAC was a resounding success! The series brought an important component of the arts - live music - to the Arts Center, supercharging our impact on our town and the surrounding area.”
In addition to live music, JSAC offers a wide variety of programming, including visual arts, wellness, dance, theater, and comedy. Power-Galli added, “In putting together the lineup for this second season, Mark Klemow, the founder of Split Level Concerts, has done it again. Not only are we getting top notch Americana and contemporary folk artists to grace our stage, several of the performers will be accompanied by their full touring bands. The rafters will be ringing!”
Split Level Concerts began as a house concert series in 2000 and grew to eventually present shows at the JCC of Central NJ in Scotch Plains and the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway before moving to the Jersey Shore Arts Center last October. The series has presented more than 130 shows since its inception.
“I am beyond thrilled with the response to our first season at JSAC. Over the course of seven shows, more than 1,200 music lovers turned out and were inspired, uplifted, and entertained. That’s what live music does; it brings folks together for a communal experience,” said Klemow. “I have high hopes for our second season, as we’ll be welcoming back several Split Level favorites and bringing in some fresh new faces, too.”
Net ticket proceeds from all Split Level concerts support the programming and arts education offered by the Jersey Shore Arts Center, a non-profit organization serving Ocean Grove and its surrounding areas. In addition, Jersey Shore Arts Center and Split Level Concerts are proud to partner with Brookdale Public Radio 90.5 The Night and Musicians On A Mission (MOAM) to promote the concert series. Musicians On A Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating connection and inspiring giving through music. Last season, the volunteers from MOAM collected hundreds of dollars in donations for various local non-profits while also accepting food donations on behalf of Fulfill (formerly the Food Bank of Monmouth & Ocean County). This season, MOAM has chosen Fulfill as their sole beneficiary and will be on hand at all shows collecting non-perishable food and cash donations for their benefit.
The Jersey Shore Arts Center is located at 66 South Main Street in Ocean Grove. Follow both the Jersey Shore Arts Center and Split Level Concerts on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on all the concert happenings. You can also follow Split Level Concerts on Bandsintown.
